The fourth course of the Izmir Marathon competition
We saw great excitement in two Izmir marathons. Meanwhile, Mehmet Moharram Kasapoglu, Minister of Sports and Youth, came to the field and wished success to the athletes before the start of the competition. The athletes started running at 07:00 in front of the former IZFAŞ office building on Shire Ashraf Blvd.
Which was held for the fourth time by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The aim of the athletes in this Izmir Marathon, which was to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and with 30 elite athletes from 20 countries and athletes from all over Turkey, was to renew the fastest record in Turkey.
42 km Marathon
In the Marathoneter Izmir Marathon, the athletes reach Karşıka through Alsanjak and return before going to Bostanli Pier.

The May 19 road race, scheduled to be held on May 21, 2023, within the framework of the Izmir Marathon, was born with a length of 10 kilometers. Mohammad Muharram Kasapoglu, the Minister of Sports and Youth, and Tonç Süyer, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan City, started the Izmir Marathon race. After starting at 09.15 from the memorial point, the athletes in the 10-kilometer race returned from the Kupro tram station on Mustafa Kamal Coastal Boulevard. They completed the race in front of the Izmir Foyer building.
Izmir Municipality Youth Sports Club
Turning Izmir into a model sports city in Turkey, hosting national and international sports organizations, and instilling the love of sports and the habit of doing sports in the citizens of Izmir are the primary goals of the Izmir Municipality Youth Sports Club.
In line with these goals, Tunç Süyer successfully organized Maratonİzmir on October 4, 2020. On April 11, 2021, the first Marathon was held siMarathonusly in cities worldwide and played an essential role in their city branding. On April 17, 2022, he made a sustainable foundation for the Izmir Marathon, which will cover this year and the next few years. The goal of the Izmir Municipal Youth Sports Club is to make the Izmir Marathon one of the most well-known marathons in the world and break new world records in the future.
With official competitions such as the half marathon on September 9, May 19, the Asteğmen Kubilay road race, the longest/shortest night run, the children’s run, and national and international events such as SporFest, which the club will hold in many different sports disciplines. Kurd will support Izmir’s sports development and will continue these activities.
